Today I found out that Christina Aguilera is releasing a new album entitled "Bionic", featuring a half-real, half-bionic version of her face on the cover. I think it's interesting that a singer is trying to draw attention to an aspect of the cyborg world, perhaps for the first time. Whether or not it promotes discussion, the album art, at least, is pretty cool.

I find it pretty interesting that the parts that make up her face are all musical instruments or other musical things...at first glance i didn't notice that....i guess many artists today are like musical machines because you have to constantly work and release music to continue being famous, gettings gigs and making money.

This picture makes the idea behind technology advancement seem like an art form. This could send two messages, that we are advancing in a beautiful way, or that we are advancing technology to be able to show off newer and better things. I think this pictures is great in showing how art can be depicted as influencing or being influenced by cyborg technology.

This is my favorite cyborg picture on the blog. I love the idea of us being controlled by technology and how it is taking over our lives. I do not think I could go a day without using some kind of technology like my computer or a cell phone and it really was not that long ago that people didnt. Very cool picture

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of this available, but there is an example of Cyborgs in advertising -- as I do take this to be, at least slightly -- hanging all over Slayter. The posters advertising "Aura" have a cyborgian-figure in the forefront. Personally, I find it to be that poster a bit creepy, but seeing as, in both cases, these images will be the first impressions of the CD or the performance, I figured they were at least in a way connected.
