Not Your Typical Cyborg

I know that when you typically think of a cyborg, you envision a robot looking creature with mechanical limbs and such, but Chuck from the NBC TV Series Chuck is another example of what cyborg means.  I doesn't have any robotic appendages, but he does have a built in computer in his head.  This computer is programmed with all sorts of stuff including NSA and CIA details, fighting techniques and almost anything else you could think of.  It functions by flashing when it recognizes something, and then taking control over his actions and thoughts.  It really is amazing how many different ways that a cyborg can be defined and look.

  1. I think that is the scariest thing about cyborgs. The computer inside of his brain ultimately has full control over his actions and thoughts.

  2. I've always wanted to see this show but have never taken the time to watch any of it. I was completely unaware that it was a computer that did all of that for him. The idea that the computer can control him is a bit scary; does he have any way of deactivating it, or could it potentially strike at any moment? It is a really cool idea, however. It reminds me of The Matrix -- without the giant hole in the back of his head.
