I think this has to be considered web art, if for no other reason than that I can't come up with another definition.  It's pretty interesting, and it's good for a few minutes of entertainment.  Beyond that, I can't say what its purpose is.  I really liked it though.

This one is a lot like Luke's. It is just another site that will transform your pictures into net art. I thought the whole idea was really cool. I also found programs you can buy for your computer to create images like this. If people are just using these kind of programs it is not that cool but if they are doing it by hand it takes so much work and produces really interesting images.

ASC11 Photo Converter!

Going along with what same found. I looked around and found a site that converts your photos into ASC11 code. The site was: photo2text.com. I gave it a try and this is what turned up. I think its pretty cool!

It did a really great job especially if you dont really look at the text picture and you kinda look past the screen.
